About Scantrol
Scantrol is an independent supplier of monitoring and control systems for the marine business. Our team is committed to understanding our clients' needs and challenges to design systems and software that provides high user value, and we are well known for delivering beyond our customer’s expectations. We have a strong background in working toward goals and have proven our ability to achieve them.
The story
Our company was founded with the ambition of improving the catching efficiency of commercial trawl fisheries, and we pioneered the use of trawl sensors to control the trawl winches.
With a long-term focus on the fishermen's varying needs and challenges, we have established ourselves as a market leader, and our autotrawl system has become the industry standard in international trawl fisheries.
We started our AHC business because we saw a need for an independent supplier of Active Heave Compensation systems to small and medium-size winch manufacturers. As we gained experience with the AHC technology, we realized how valuable it was to customers, but due to its complexity and cost, the technology was reserved mainly for the offshore industry and others with large budgets.
We set ourselves the goal of making AHC technology accessible to anyone conducting subsea operations and we started an ambitious R&D project. Three years later, our mTrack AHC controller was ready for the market. This affordable AHC controller with built-in MRU has led to increased use of Active Heave Compensation, and mTrack is being used in a growing number of applications.

We aim to create software for the lifetime of your vessel. Our software is continuously updated with new features and to be compatible with new hardware. This ensures that you get a long life of your Scantrol system and both hardware and software can be upgraded individually as needed.
Safe and serious partner with care for the ocean
Scantrol is a serious and socially responsible company that is safe to trade with. We demonstrate this, among other things, through our environmental focus and our AAA rating for financial stability. Internal environmental accounting has been implemented and we will be carbon neutral by 2021.
We have taken much inspiration for our environmental work from our board member Heinrich Jessen, who was named "2016 businessman of the year" in Singapore for, among other things, having made the 4,000-employee industrial company Jebsen & Jessen SEA carbon-neutral.
Vision
We want to contribute to a better environment in air and sea by assisting our customers in the fishing industry and offshore energy sector to reduce environmental impact. Both sectors face major challenges related to sustainability, and together with our sister companies GVR and Deep Vision, we are in the process of developing new technology and new solutions which will help solve these challenges. Together, we have ambitions, competence, and the ability to implement our goals.
