Cato Johansen strengthens IT, strategy and innovation as new CEO at Scantrol
Cato Johansen, the newly appointed CEO of Scantrol, is leveraging his expertise in IT and strategy to modernize and fortify the company's trajectory. Two months into his new role, he has become acquainted with the company: “The team’s dedication is a key factor for our strong market position.”
Cato Johansen was previously the Director of IT, Strategy, and Innovation at Amesto, a company voted to be the third most innovative company in Norway by InnoMag in 2022. With his extensive background in IT, his appointment was a strategic move, according to Helge Hammersland, founder and former CEO:
Scantrol has a strong team with in-depth knowledge of the industries we work in. Employing someone with a strong IT background was a great opportunity as IT has become increasingly crucial in today's business landscape and is expected to continue to be so in the years to come, says Helge.
With his background in IT and technology, as well as a Global Executive MBA and experience in international leadership, the new CEO is well-equipped to enhance Scantrol's strategy: “I want to leverage this expertise to develop the company's strategies and systems, particularly in areas such as sustainability”, says Cato.
Having spent two months on the job, he has become familiar with Scantrol and its employees: “Scantrol has a team of highly skilled and motivated individuals who work collaboratively to create value for our customers” says Cato.
Helge, in agreement with Cato's assessment of the team, passes on the responsibility of the company he has led for more than 20 years: “It felt like the right time to hand over the reins. We are currently in a very strong position, with exceptional people, products, and financial results”, he says.
To ensure a seamless transition, Helge will continue as the Executive Chairman for a period. We are in a stable and robust position, and now we want to modernize and elevate the company to the next level. We are committed to further development and growth.
