SYM 7 AutoTrawl - Pair Link
Get a Head Start on Pair Trawling with SYM 7 and Pair Link
All SYM 7 systems are prepared for working with Scantrol Pair Link module
Many vessel owners are considering the possibility of starting pair trawling to achieve increased catches and up to 30% fuel reduction, but there are many challenges that must be solved when entering a completely new fishery. Scantrol has played an important role in automating the pair trawl operation, and our radio-based Pair link can be integrated with SYM 7 and help you get started quickly with utilizing the pair trawl's efficiency.
With SYM 7 Pair Link the skippers on the master and the partner vessel will have full overview and control of towing one or several nets in a pair trawl configuration
With SYM 7 Pair Link the skippers on the master and the partner vessel will have full overview and control of towing one or several nets in a pair trawl configuration
With SYM7 Pair Link, it is easy to select if your own vessel shall be operated as a partner or master vessel
When Pair Trawling the vessel that is identified as master is controlling the fishing situation.
The vessel that is set up to be the partner, has the possibility to activate the following automatic controls to follow the master vessel.
Datalink between the vessels for remote control and sharing data such as length, wire tension, operational modes and setpoints.
The partner vessel can be automatically controlled to keep distance, heading, sailing course. If the master vessel change direction during towing the partner vessel will automatically follow.
Trawl winches on the partner vessel can be controlled from the master vessel. This makes it easy to tow pelagic pair trawl or to adjust the gear if towing multiple nets
SYM7 on the partner vessel can be set to control engine pitch or RPM in order to keep correct trawl pull and vessel position relative to the master vessel.
Pair lLnk can control the engine power automatically to keep the net symmetric by using information from a Scanmar symmetry or trawl speed sensor.
