It is not always easy to decide what vessel pull and speed will give the best catch results.
SYM 7 Towing Power indicator calculates the force that is being used to pull the trawl gear through the sea. Trawl Pull is calculated from wire tensions, taking depth and door spread into account. It will not take many tows for the skipper to determine the correct Tow Power and use this as a reference for adjusting the engine power when towing in changing tides and weather conditions.
